Setup guide
Connect in 3 steps
- 01
Add MyTravelBuddy in Grok
Create a Custom Connector using the MyTravelBuddy MCP server.
- Open Grok → Skills and Connectors → Connectors.
- Choose New Connector → Custom and name it MyTravelBuddy.
- Enter https://mcp.mytravelbuddy.ai and add the connector.
- 02
Complete OAuth authorization
A real connection includes the MyTravelBuddy sign-in and consent flow.
- Sign in to MyTravelBuddy when Grok redirects you.
- Review the requested permissions and approve the connection.
- If Grok says Connected without ever showing sign-in, remove the connector and add it again.
- 03
Bring useful discoveries home
Ask Grok to use MyTravelBuddy whenever an idea should become part of the actual trip.
- Start a conversation and name MyTravelBuddy in the request.
- Ask Grok to check your trip before recommending where a new idea fits.

Troubleshooting
Common questions
Grok shows Connected but tools do not work
OAuth likely did not complete. Remove the connector, revoke any stale Grok grant in MyTravelBuddy, and add it again so the sign-in flow runs.
Disconnect removed the connector
Grok may treat Disconnect as removal rather than a temporary pause. Add the Custom Connector again to reconnect.
Grok never asks me to sign in
Delete and recreate the connector with the exact MCP URL. MyTravelBuddy requires OAuth before Grok can list protected tools.
Your companion stays with the trip
Use Grok when it helps. Keep your buddy at the center.
Every approved change is available in MyTravelBuddy, ready for the next conversation and the journey itself.
